Japanese Embassy's football club- Action

Aim: Promote the friendship among Japan and other countries by through dipomat football match.
Site: American school in Paris (match ground) and Bagatel parc (to practice)

Since last winter, Im joing in the Japanese Embassy's football club as they dont have young and strong people in their team. This is both action and service because football is a sport and when they have a match with other team Im helping Japanese embassy's team to lead them to a victory!!

Im sure that i ve done more than 30 hours for practicing football and 20 hours for the match against with other countries.

we had foot ball match practice "Japanese embassy VS American Embassy" in March.

we used the American school's ground to play. Unfortunately, we lost our game but it was really good match to develop more Japanese and American's friend ship.

Last week on Sunday(19/06/2011), we had football tournament with more than 20 different country's Embassy team.

we did pretty nice job when we play with Bragil and Canada. but we couldnt win the all team.

Reflection:

It was a new challenge for me because I haven't played in a team with adults before. I hope I was principled in the way I played, won and lost. As an action activity this goes towards being a balanced student, this helped mi know my own strengths in football and improved my football playing. Im really proud of that I could contribute for them.

Music Soiree (Band activities) - creativity

Aim: Practice musical performance for the talent show and music soiree.

Site: ISP Music room.

Supervisor: Mr.Anderson.

I organized my band (no name band) with Martin (Guitar and Drum) G10, Beatrice (Guitar and Vocal) G11, Gaku (The best base player) G10 and Konrad (amazing drumer) G11, plus Nozomu (Guitar and strange vocal) G11.

Mostly I have played with Martin and Beatrice at the moment. But as we need more instruments in our band, we really wanted someone who can support for us. Therefore, I picked out Gaku and Konrad in our band to borrow their fantastic musical talent.

Our band performed Rock, Heveavy metal, J-pop and V-kei(japanese visual band music). I wanted to perform something not the same as other band group. Therefore, I picked up some interesting japanese songs which audience can join into it easily (catchy melody) or something that can attract people (as I screamed during the Music soiree)

This is the song which I sang during the Music soiree

It was not really same as real V-kei band. Nevertheless I could make it more powerful. I think it has more originality because of my performance with the white coat and white mask. I hope that I can do this kind of show next year also.

Every week on Tuesday after school we had 2 hours of band practice. And also I went to my band frien's house for few times to practice my singing or guitar.

This is the picture when I visited my guitarist's house. It seems we are crazy of music and we are going to rock everyone.

since I started this band at the beggining of 2010 I feel that no one can stop my passionate emotion of music. I have also practiced my self how to sing or how to play my guitar part my self for mostly every day and also I have got the guitar lesson every week on saturday or Sunday. I have a strong confidence that I used more than 200 hours for musical activities since 2010.

This is the scene of our band's practice session.

I know this quality is not good that much as we played this music "Animal I have become" by "Three days grace" for first time. we are always enjoy our band practice after school. This is my favorite moment in my school life.

Im really glad to Mrs.Lithellerie and Mr. Anderson who kept the music room for us and helping for setting and use of mechanical equipments for instruments.

Reflection:

I guess this activity is one of the my best experience and good memory to keep in my teenage life. The music was the only solution than can save me from the despair of hard work from school and it gave me a lot of energy to be social and aggressive. This vital power led me to bond our good friendships among my band players.

I was open minded because I did not only perform music that I listen to, and tried singing in english which is very hard for me, so this was also a challenge that I undertaken. It was important to work as a team for this, to all choose the music, and to all play together. I have also improved on my guitar playing and singing, and think I am maybe knowlegeable about music now. I also continue this activity and am very commited.

I hope that I can continue this kind of musical activities even If I'll get older in the future. I would continue to scream the shout of my spirits until to the end of my life.

Practice Trombone- Action

Aim: Take a lesson from trombone teacher to improve my trombone skills and bring it out during the school concert band.

Site: At my house and ISP (music room)
Supervisor: Mrs. Akiko and Mrs. Lithellerie

The lady who is standing on right side in this picture is My trombone teacher.

Im having the trombone lesson by Japanese trombone teacher for 2 hours per week. As I continued for 2years since my CAS started. I've done this action more than 60 hours. Im really glad to my trombone teacher, due to her lesson that I could improve my musical sence and tecnique.

Reflection:

Due to her lesson, Im gradually could improve my trombone skills (to create clear and beautiful sounds) and how to play the trombone by reading the score of music at the same time.
When I had some trouble for my music home work she had helped me to give some advices. So I knew a lot of new knowledges which is related to musical theory. Learning a theory of music pushed me to have a want of learning more about whole music in general. Therefore, I have been improving alot in trombone playing and music in general, and this makes me balanced student.

I've counted this activity as an Action because performing trombone needs a lot of energy and power. As the trombone is one of the brass instruments, I had to train the capacity of the lungs by breathing trainning.

Senior Choir - creativity

Aim: To perform for the music soiree, we sang "The Longest Time" by Billy Joel a acapella (no instuments) and also we had to perform for the grade 12 graduation "The Longest Time" again along with " Apologise" by One Republic.

Site: ISP music room (to practice),

Supervisor: Mrs.Lathuillerie

As we need to have a time to practice for this activity we had some extra time for spending our time after school to practice (There was no excuse to for missing a class). It was pretty hard to sing the chorus part at the same time with other people. So we are really needed to be build as one group to be symphonize.

This was a new challenge to sing in a group a capella, and as a bass i needed to keep everything together with beat and tune. I was committed to this and enjoyed the challenge of it. I was caring about helping others with their parts and being patient.

I spent about 14 hours for this activity (including practice, music soiree and G12 graduation time)

Reflection:

As I love the music, Im really pleased to singing or performing my show in front of people at the stage. So actually, this activity gave me good oportunity to enjoy my self but also entertaining a lots of audience such as ISP students and their parents. Also, this choir activity made improve my singing skill. Therefore, it encouraged me to sing more infront of people in my band ( The band for music soiree). I felt that I cannot live without "music" in my life. This is the best way of people can be cooperative and peaceful.

Costume Design - Service

I joined in the Costume design club because I Love fashion and I am also interested in creating it. We created the costumes for 9 to 11 grade drama play, which was a service to the school.
We did this every wednesday after school for an hour and a half about (usually longer).

Reflection:

This was a new challenge because I have never made clothes before but it was fun! I was being open minded because and caring towards others and communicated my ideas. I was curious about clothes designing and so this helped my curiousity.

Dates: 29/09 - 6/10 - 13/10 - 20/10 - 10/11 - 17/11 - 24/11 - 30/11 (more than 2 hours) - 1/12

international day - service

Aim: To advertise Japanese culture and traditon.
Site: ISP, my friends house (to preparing the poster).
Supervisor: Mr.Anderson

According to prepare the International day (17/12/2010). We had Japanese students meeting to discuss about what we can show or serve to foreign people at the International day.

We decided to make some japanese foods and also japanese game which is called "wanage" (ringtoss) and "shageki"(shooting).

First, I needed to buy the materials to make the gun which is made by japanese wood chopsticks. Therefore, I went to buy 100 chopsticks at japanese shop near my house. and also I learnt the skill of how to use the machine that makes "Cotton candy" from Satoshi Kosugi (G12 student) at his house.

At the moment of International day, I sold our cotton candies for everyone by free. and also I helped G9 japanese students to attract people to join Japanese games.

Reflection:

Through this actibity, I learnt the importance of considering our Japanese traditions and spread around it to people who dont know our culture that much. Also, I really could enjoy to helping my friends in my grade and other grades such as G10, G9 and G8. In other words, I can say that interdeopence created the force that makes us move deeply from bottom of our heart.
I was also curious about the ethic idea of bringing part of my country to ISP.

Japanese fisherman dance - Soranbushi - Action

Aim: To show our Japanese dance spirits during at International day talent show.
Site: ISP gym (talent show stage), my friends house (to practice our dance)
Supervisor: Mr. Anderson

All japanese in grade 11 practiced traditional japanese dance which is called "Soran-bushi" (fisherman dance) at school and our houses every week as we perform it for International day's talent show. The total hours of we spent for this action is 20 hours. I've practiced this dance at home and sometimes with my friends at their house. Also we had time to practice in school, so we did a lot of effort to finish our dance. I hope that our Japanese dance tradition can inspire a lot of people in ISP.

Reflection:
I spent a lot of time to learn this Japanese traditional dance. G12 girls taught us how to dance during lunch time and afterschool every week before the International day. I couldnt dance very well at the beginning, therefore I made trouble for everyone in my grade. As I felt really ashamed, I had practiced every night for 30 minutes in front of the mirror.
Through this activity, I could understand how fun is to make an effort to achieve difficult problems (such as dancing) and I can cooperate with my friends at the end. Im really thanks to all my japanese friends in my grade who gave me some advices and provided the place to practice our dance in their house.
I persevere with this activity and was aware of my own strength and weakness for dancing.
